Please join Jeffrey Mullins, of Taft Law as he discusses Employers who work under the Davis Bacon Act are adjusting to some of the biggest changes in its scope and substance in more than 50 years. This presentation will cover the basics of prevailing wage under the DBA including wage determinations, certified payrolls, responsibility for subcontractor compliance and sick leave requirements.
It will also address some of the most important updates under new guidance issue by the DOL in 2024 with respect to conformance requests, Inflation Reduction Act requirements, site of work issues and apprenticeship program ratios for employers who perform work in multiple jurisdictions.
Jeff practices in the areas of construction and labor and employment law. He has spent more than 35 years building a successful practice by providing private and public organizations with creative, practical and proactive advice on how to run a successful operation while complying with a myriad of complex legal requirements. He has substantial experience in counseling, advising and defending organizations on issues concerning the Affordable Care Act, the FLSA, Ohio and federal prevailing wage laws (including the Service Contract Act, the Davis Bacon Act and the Walsh Healy Act), the NLRA (including union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining and unfair labor practice charges); the ADA and other anti-discrimination laws, sexual harassment, OSHA and workplace violence and bullying.
